A 3D adventure game based on the horror works of H.P. Lovecraft.

Alone in the Dark is a horror-adventure game, where you choose to play either one of two characters, male or female. A old man, named Jeremy Hartwood, has committed suicide in his old Louisiana mansion and something is wrong. You, as the player, can take the role of two main characters - either the private investigator Edward Carnby or Jeremy's niece Emily Hartwood. Your job is to investigate this strange murder in the old mansion. The mansion has a reputation of being haunted by strange creatures and soon you'll encounter undead creatures and fantastic creatures from beyond this world. Alone in the Dark is not an action game, and you cannot blast your way through problems - most of the time you'll have to solve puzzles and figure out clever solutions. During gameplay you'll find several books and reading them will give you a great insight in the story of the haunted mansion. Alone in the Dark is a great game with an exciting story - much like an early Half-Life.
